Adele M. Ramos, 75, of New Bedford died peacefully September 22, 2024 at Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Maria (Ramos) Groebe and Joseph M. "Jiggs" Ramos, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was formerly employed as a social worker for many years.  She started with the Department of Social Services, then with On Board and then worked as housing coordinator with PACE.  She retired from the Department of Transitional Assistance.
Adele was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church where she enjoyed volunteering as a CCD teacher.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune.  She also enjoyed the company of her dog Stylar for many years and was an avid Boston Celtics fan.
Survivors include her son, Jared Spinola and his wife Christine of Dartmouth; 2 daughters, Shai Spinola-Ramos and her husband Pedro Ramos of New Bedford and Darcy Hubbard and her husband Kenneth of Hyde Park; 2 brothers, Kenneth Ramos and Jaime Ramos both of New Bedford; a sister, Mary Lyn Ramos of New Bedford; her former husband, Barry Spinola of New Bedford; 7 grandchildren, Jacob Ramos, Rhyan Ramos, Avery Spinola, Arianna Spinola, Aiden Spinola, Daraiha Richardson and her husband Davon and Brysen Greene; 2 great-grandchildren, Nyzaiah Ramos-Pina and Justice Richardson; 4 Godchildren, Jerome Wills, Kym Reis, Kevin Lopes and Kymani Reis and several nieces and nephews.
She was the grandmother of the late Ashley Ramos, sister of the late Lois Ramos, Kenneth Francis and Keith Francis and the step-daughter of the late Louise Ramos and William Groebe.
Her Funeral will be held on Thursday, September 26th at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, September 25th from 4-7 PM.
