Adele "Del" Szczepan, 92, of Dartmouth died September 5, 2007 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Marcoin and Honorata (Swierad) Szczepan, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life before moving to Heritage of Dartmouth.
She was a communicant of the Polish National Catholic Church.
Miss Szczepan was employed by the State Highway Department for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a secretary for 18 years until her retirement in 1980.
Miss Szczepan was a member of the Polish American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary and the St. Casimir Seniors. She was a member of the State retirees in Middleboro, District #7. Miss Szczepan was a former member of Monuszko Choir and a graduate of New Bedford High School class of 1933.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews including Carol Ann Fallon of Milton and her special friends, her grandnieces. She was the sister of the late Phyllis Olejasz, Thaddeus Szczepan, Mitchell Szczepan and Chester Szczepan.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 8th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in the Polish National Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday, September 7th from 4-7 PM.
