Adolfo F. Barbosa, 45, of New Bedford passed away Friday January 31, 2025 after a long illness.  He was the husband of Mistique A. (DeMoranville) Barbosa.

Born in Dakar, Senegal, the son of the late Luisa Gomes Fortes and Telmo D. Barbosa, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

Adolfo was formerly employed as a house painter and as a bouncer at area lounges.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife, Mistique; his children, Joelle, Jordan, Diamond, Dante, and Jeriel; his grandchildren, Kaylanii, Jayden, and Ariella; his siblings, Ludovina Ramos, Julia DePina, Maria DeAndrade, Domingas Tavares, Antonio Fortes, Jose Tavares, Americo Barbosa, Abel Barbosa, Francisco Barbosa, Eduardo Barbosa, John Sousa, Anselmo Barbosa, Antero Barbosa, Adelaide Barbosa, Maria Teresa Barbosa, and Telma Barbosa; and many nieces and nephews.

His visitation will be held on Tuesday February 11th from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
