Agnelo Barros, 52, of New Bedford died May 3, 2010 unexpectedly at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
He was the husband of Maria P. (Lopes) Barros.
Born in Fogo, Cape Verde, the son of Amelia DeBarros of New Bedford and the late Cesario DeBarros, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Agnelo was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
He was employed by A.R. Belli, Inc. for many years.
Agnelo enjoyed hosting barbecues at his home for family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; 4 sons, Mario DeBarros, Ronnie DeBarros and Alex DeBarros, all of New Bedford and Dennis DeBarros of Praia, Cape Verde; 8 brothers, Natalio, Francisco "Frank", Damiaõ, Daniel, Felipe, Zedy and Estevao "Steve", all of New Bedford and Tony of Dartmouth; 3 sisters, Antonia DeBarros of Praia, Maria "Tchica" DaSilveira of New Bedford and Laura Barros of Montreal; a grandchild; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday, May 7th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday, May 6th from 4-8 PM.
