Albert Gonsalves, 79, of New Bedford died Saturday June 12, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born and raised in East Freetown, the son of the late Joseph and Virginia (Santos) Gonsalves, he had lived in New Bedford for the past 30 years.

Mr. Gonsalves was formerly employed as a supervisor at the Aerovox Corporation until his retirement.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Velez of Corona, NY; a sister, Hilda Ransom of New Bedford; a brother, Nelson Gonsalves of California; and nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Julio Gonsalves and Leonard Gonsalves.

His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday June 16, 2004 at 10 AM in the Calvary Pentecostal Church, East Freetown. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, New Bedford. Visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday 4-7 PM.
