Albert M. Lima, 89 of Fairhaven died Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at home after a long illness. He was the husband of Alda M. (Botelho) Lima.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late John and Mary (Correia) Lima, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

He was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.

Mr. Lima honorably served in the Army National Guard for over 27 years.

He was formerly employed as a truck driver at Massachusetts Maritime Academy for many years until his retirement. In retirement, he was employed as a bus driver for Reliable Bus Lines and First Student, Inc. until he once again retired at the age of 87.

Mr. Lima was a handyman who knew a little about everything. He enjoyed golfing, puzzles, carpentry, traveling, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Alda; four children, Albert M. Lima and his wife Lisa, Anne McGrath and her husband Kevin, April Lima and her husband Rick Pimentel, and Andrew Lima and his wife Lisa; 11 grandchildren, Britnei, Ashlee, Matthew, Bria, Brooke, Courtney, Zack, Alecia, Alex, Lexie, and Chelsey; 4 great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Aliviah, Grayson, and Romien; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

His Funeral will be held Monday, June 23, 2025 at 10 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
