Albert "Bubba" Silva, 71, of New Bedford passed away Wednesday June 26,2024 after a brief illness.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late William "ChuCha" Silva and Albertina (Ramos) Silva, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

Albert was formerly employed as a merchant seaman during his younger years and later worked as a carpenter.

He enjoyed music and boxing.  In his youth, he excelled as a gymnast.

He is survived by his children, Ebony Silva and his wife Abi Niang-Silva, Mahogany Silva, Rael Silva, Alexis Silva, and William Silva; his sister, Rosetta Lee Silva; his former wife, Donna Sanchez; eight grandchildren, Michaiah Tavares, Mykhel Tavares, Mason Tavares, Matthias Tavares, Jalyza Silva, Alexis Silva, Jr., Jose Antonio Lopez, Jr., and Antoine DaCruz; two great-grandchildren, Jalen DaCruz and Anari DaCruz; his niece, Trenna Britto; his nephews, Macario Nelson and Bryce Britto; and his faithful dogs, Siyah and Nala.

He was predeceased by his son, Ashley Silva.
