Alison Anita Davis-Spinola, devoted servant of Jehovah, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Alison was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was a faithful member. Alison was loved and cherished by her family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for her smile and sharing her love for Jehovah.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on December 17, 1960 to the late Robert Quarles and Elsie Washington Quarles, Alison was educated in Boston Public Schools and worked as a secretary for various companies in and around Boston until the early 1990's when she relocated to New Bedford, Massachusetts. After relocating, Alison became a Certified Nursing Assistant caring for many in need until she retired.
Alison leaves behind her husband Barry Spinola; daughter Camille Frias and her husband Brian Frias of Dartmouth, MA; four grandchildren, Mario Wilson (Nina Vazquez) of New Bedford, MA, Nyah Wilson, Devan Wilson, and Quentin Frias, all of Dartmouth, MA; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Wilson.
Alison is also survived by her stepchildren: Shai Ramos and Jared Spinola; siblings: Lee Quarles (Yvonne), Gerald Quarles (Delphine), Paul Quarles, Leslie Thorpe, and Gary Quarles; and a large, loving circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Alison was predeceased by her parents, Robert Quarles and Elsie Washington Quarles; and her siblings, Robert A. Quarles, David Quarles, and Douglas Quarles.
Her funeral talk, presented by Patrick Brizard, will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 4:00 P.M. in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, MA 02740. A repast will be held immediately following the talk at White's of Westport, 66 State Rd., Westport, MA 02790. Visitation will be held Saturday from 2:00-4:00 P.M., prior to the talk.
