Allan Surpless, Jr., 67, of New Bedford died July 24, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Allan and Henriette B. (Blasco) Surpless, he lived in New Bedford.
He was formerly employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance.
Survivors include his 3 sons, Justin Surpless and his wife Ashley of Bellingham and Oliver Surpless and Brendan Surpless, both of Acushnet; a brother, Henry Surpless of Luxembourg.

His visiting hour will be held on Tuesday, July 29th from 6-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the National Geographic Foundation http://www.nationalgeographic.com/explorers/support/
