Amelia G. (Gomes) Pina, 97, of New Bedford died August 14, 2010 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Frank "Bojo" Pina.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Albert and Josephine (Mendes) Gomes, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, caring for and spending time with her family.
Survivors include 2 sons, Robert Pina and his wife Jacqueline and Roy Pina, all of New Bedford; a step-daughter, Dorothy Silva of New Bedford; a brother, Joseph Gomes and his wife Geraldine; of New Bedford; 6 grandchildren, Teri, Cori and Bobby Pina, all of California, Lori "Ganeto" Williams and her husband LaVar, Kyla Barrett and Shellie Correia, all of New Bedford; 4 step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was the grandmother of the late David Pina and the sister of the late Albina Tavares, Dominga Gomes, Jenny Alves, Lawrence Gomes, Domingo Gomes, Arthur Gomes, Lucia "Alice" Gomes, Lena Pires and Antone "Tony" Gomes.
Visiting hours Wednesday, August 18th from 4-7 PM followed by her Funeral Service at 7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
