Andrea Hickey Cady, 46, of Rochester, MA, died June 17, 2011 at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of John A. "Jack" Cady.
Born in Brockton, MA, the daughter of Jeanne P. Hickey of Marion and the late Dr. Arthur C. Hickey, Andrea was raised in Marion and was a graduate of Bishop Stang High School and Providence College. Andrea then went on to hold numerous positions in the business world, most recently as the Benefits Coordinator at Tabor Academy. It is here that she found the greatest professional fulfillment in being part of the Tabor community.
A loving mother and devoted wife, Andrea brought life and happiness to whatever she did. An avid tennis player and accomplished knitter and photographer, her talents and hobbies were many. She was a communicant of Saint Rose of Lima Church in Rochester, MA.
She is survived by her husband; her mother; a son, John A. Cady, III of Rochester; three daughters, Christina Cady, Hillary Cady and Phoebe Cady, all of Rochester; two brothers, Christopher Hickey and David Hickey, both of Marion; two sisters, Susan Stone of Holliston, MA and Diane Chimowitz of Dunwoody, GA; three nieces and one nephew; and her beloved dog, Ruben.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 24th at 10 AM in Wickenden Chapel at Tabor Academy. Visiting hours are Thursday, June 23rd from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett.
