Andrea Stergiotis

Andrea (Harrison) Stergiotis, 80, passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2026, with her devoted son, Michael, by her side.

Andrea was the beloved daughter of the late Rae and Sydney Harrison and the loving mother of Michael, to whom she was deeply devoted and with whom she shared a close, cherished bond.

A lifelong resident of New Bedford, Andrea was educated at Friends Academy, New Bedford High School, and Boston University, where she studied art. An artist at heart, she had an extraordinary eye for detail and a natural ability to express herself creatively in all aspects of her life.

After college, Andrea traveled extensively, including a formative and joyful period living and working in Greece with her sister, Marcel. She embraced the language, culture, and adventure of her time there-experiences that became some of her most treasured memories. Her love of Greece stayed with her always, from fluent conversations overheard in local restaurants to the entrepreneurial spirit she carried forward throughout her life.

Andrea's creativity found its fullest expression in her work. She owned and operated The Carriage House Studio, where she designed and sold handcrafted jewelry, curated unique gifts, and created custom gift baskets for every occasion. Even earlier, she could be found designing silver jewelry in shop windows, drawing people in with both her talent and quiet confidence. Many friends and family continue to wear the jewelry she made, tangible reminders of her artistry and care.

After closing her shop, Andrea continued her professional life in high-end retail and management, including positions that reflected her refined taste and keen eye. She later embraced online retail, opening an Etsy shop that allowed her work to reach customers across Western and Eastern Europe-an achievement that brought her great pride and joy.

Andrea was a founding member of the Greater New Bedford Singles Club and an active member of the Friends of Buttonwood Park, where she volunteered her time toward the park's beautification. At home, she found peace and purpose tending her gardens, which bloomed from early spring through fall and reflected the patience, beauty, and attention she brought to all she did.

Family was central to Andrea's life. She lovingly cared for her parents in their later years and later opened her home and heart to care for her sister, Marcel, during her own decline. Her generosity, sense of responsibility, and quiet strength defined her as much as her creativity did.

In recent years, Andrea faced significant health challenges with courage and determination. Even as her lungs failed and each breath became a struggle, she fought to live, valuing deeply the extra time she was given-especially the time spent with Michael.

Andrea will be remembered as an intelligent, adventurous, creative, and deeply caring woman. She lived to explore, to learn, to design, and to share her gifts with others. She will be greatly missed by her family, her friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She was inspirational!
