Angelo Rego, 85, of Fairhaven passed away Saturday April 19, 2025 after a brief illness. He was the husband of Nancy A. (Turner) Rego.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Angelo and Mary (Pimental) Rego, he lived in New Bedford and Fairhaven for most of his life.
Angelo was formerly employed as a court officer for the Bristol County Trial Courts until his retirement. He also previously owned Sylvia's Package Store with his brother Bill.
He served in the Army National Guard and was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis.
A man of many interests, he enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, tinkering with model trains, riding motorcycles, boating, fishing, bicycling, woodworking, and painting with acrylics.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children, Sue-Ann Arsenault and her husband Andre, Andrew Rego and his wife Suzanne, and Kathleen LeBlanc and her husband Richard, and their mother Judith Travis; five grandchildren, Andre Arsenault, Jeremy Arsenault, Chelsea Connolly, Carly Rodrigues, and Margo Rego; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; and his special niece, Sharon Nogueira.
He was the brother of the late William Rego, Albertina Rego, and Charles Rego.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday April 24th at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett, with visitation prior from 10-11 AM. For online condolence book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
