Anne W. (Davis) Wakeling, 88, of Woodmere, NY, died Sunday April 29, 2009 at South Nassau Hospital. She was the wife of Arthur W. Wakeling.

Born in Argentia, Newfoundland, the daughter of the late James J. and Margaret (Murphy) Davis, she lived in Woodmere for most of her life.

Mrs. Wakeling was formerly employed as an executive secretary at Peninsula Counseling Center in Woodmere for 39 years.

She was devoted to her husband and her family.

She is survived by husband and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Nora Smith, Margaret McGrory, Mary Duncombe, Patrick, James, William, and Matthew Davis.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visitation Thursday 10-11 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
