Arleather Virginia (Downs) Wilson, 82, of Dartmouth, MA died May 21, 2026 at the home of her niece Johanna Ramos-Smoot and family.

She was the wife of the late Paul Wilson, with whom she shared 25 years of marriage.

Mrs. Wilson was born in New Bern, NC, daughter of the late Charlie and Arletha (Johnson) Down, she lived in New York most of her life, where she met and married Paul Wilson.

Virginia was formerly employed as a CNA for many years until retirement.

Mrs. Wilson enjoyed spending time with her family as well as assisting with the upbringing of many children. Her favorite pasttime was her AI stories. Virginia truely loved the children.

Survivors include her daughter, Alice Tucker and her husband Anthony of Bronx, NY; a sister, Ellen Becton of Cove City, NC; a grandson, Anthony Downs of Bronx, NY; 2 nieces, Sandra Ingraham and Carolyn Abrahams; 3 nephews, Arthur Becton of Raleigh, NC, Norman Becton and Allan Ray Becton, both of Cove City, NC; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and the Smoot children, Shanelle and Lyri.

She was the aunt of the late Wayne Becton.

Her Funeral Service in North Carolina will be announced at a later date.
