Auxilia DaSilva

Auxilia (Fernandes) DaSilva, 92, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026. She was the wife of the late Jeronimo DaSilva.

Born in Brava, Cape Verde, daughter of the late Henry and Adelina Fernandes, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.

Auxilia enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Bisca Tournament Club.

Auxilia worked as a seamstress for many years, and was a foster parent for over 20 years.

Survivors include her children, Daniel DaSilva and his wife Nancy of Fairhaven, and Delores Azevedo of New Bedford; her grandchildren, Kellen Azevedo and his wife Christine, Julian Azevedo and his wife Amanda, Jerome DaSilva, and Nathan DaSilva; and her great-grandchildren, Aria, Hudson, Bennett, and Levi Azevedo.

Her visitation will be held Monday, May 11th from 9-10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 11 AM and burial in St. John's Cemetery.
