Ayo A. Murphy, 37, of New Bedford died December 3, 2024 unexpectedly .
Born in Boston, son of Vivian E. Murphy-Taylor of New Bedford and Kokumo "Peter" Ogunwumi of Somerville, he was raised in Alabama and lived in Boston before moving to New Bedford in 2005.
He was a graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 2005 where he was a member of the band, chorus and tennis team.
Ayo enjoyed singing and pursued music while attending UMass Dartmouth.
Survivors include his parents; 3 brothers, Antwaun Murphy, Adrian Murphy and Aaron Taylor, all of New Bedford; 4 nieces and nephews, Aria Murphy, Antwaun Murphy, Jr., Malik Murphy and Lillie Murphy; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
His visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14th from 11-11:45 AM in the United House of Prayer For All People, 419 Kempton St. New Bedford followed by his Funeral Service at 11:45 AM in church. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
