Barbara J. (England) Travers, 65, of Dartmouth died Friday June 28, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Michael Travers.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Agnes V. (Befort) England, she lived in New Bedford before moving to Dartmouth 41 years ago.

Mrs. Travers was formerly employed as a bookkeeper.

She had previously been active in the Dartmouth Youth Athletic Association, where she had served as treasurer.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Benjamin M. Travers and his wife Nancy Lynn of Stoughton and Jonathan G. Travers and his wife Barbara Jean of Attleboro; a brother, Joseph J. England of Acushnet; three grandchildren, Benjamin Travers, Jr., Carly Travers, and Cameron Nuttal; a nephew and two nieces.

Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, New Bedford on Wednesday at 11 AM. Her family will receive visitors at the Church beginning at 10:30 AM.
