Beatrice A. Soares, 91, of New Bedford, died January 11, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Pedro and Clara (Avelina) Soares, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Miss Soares was formerly employed as a fish cutter at Tichon Seafood Company.
Survivors include a brother, Avelino "Boboi" Soares of New Bedford; a sister, Louise Fortes of New Bedford; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was the sister of the late Adeline Andrade, Aurora Soares and Zulmira Soares.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9 AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
