Benjamin P. Britto, 90, of New Bedford died July 26, 2011 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Pedro M. and Gertrude (Almeida) Britto, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mr. Britto was formerly employed by Aerovox for many years until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Anthony Brito of Maryland; a daughter, Raven Dudley of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Peter Britto of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Evelyn Gomes and Maria Almeida, both of New Bedford.
He was the brother of the late Manuel Britto, Roy Britto and Joseph George Britto.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 3rd at 9 AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
