Bernadette Marie Artemis (Carignan) Outwater, 89, of New Bedford died July 22, 2011 at New Bedford Healthcare Center.
She was the wife of the late Edwin Outwater, II.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Pearl A. (Deslauriers) Carignan, she lived in Connecticut for many years before returning to New Bedford in 1990.
She was a talented decorative artist, seamstress, crocheter and a lover of life.
Survivors include her son, Clayton Medeiros and his wife Gemma Jane of Bellingham, WA; two grandchildren, Allie Medeiros and Zoé Medeiros; her good friend and fellow artist Marge Doniger and her husband Herb of Bridgewater; and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Charlotte, Frances, Roger, and Ernest Carignan.
