Brad J. Mersch, 49, of Westport passed away suddenly on Tuesday July 30, 2024.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was raised in Ohio and California and had resided in Massachusetts since 1993. He was a graduate of Corona del Mar High School in Newport Beach, California, and received his Associate's degree from Dean College and Bachelor's degree from Johnson and Wales University.

Brad was employed in the hospitality industry and business management industry for many years.

He was an avid Boston Bruins, Providence Bruins, New England Patriots, and Star Wars fan. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and shooting at the gun range. He had a strong faith and had been active in several area churches. He was an extremely generous person who was always willing to help others in need.

He is survived by his sons, Evan and Brady Mersch; his mother and stepfather, Carol and Philip DeLaney; his stepmother, Patricia Mersch; his former wife, Amy Mersch; his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Xavier; his stepchildren, Jacob and Audrey Xavier; his sister, Courtney Mersch Young; his half-sister, Angie Scaggs; his stepsister, Cynthia Gorman; and his stepbrother, Philip DeLaney, Jr.

He was predeceased by his father Donald J. Mersch.

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday August 6th at 11 AM at the Christian Fellowship Center, 822 Church St., New Bedford, MA 02745.
