Brian Gilbert Avila, 66, of Fairhaven passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday February 4, 2024. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Alfredo) Avila.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Gilbert and Deolinda (Brito) Avila, he lived in Fairhaven for most of his life. He was a graduate of Fairhaven High School and Bristol Community College.

Brian was formerly employed in computer operations for Maxon Precision Motors for 30 years.

He was an avid slot car collector and was active in rescuing beagles.

He is survived by his wife Beth; his brothers-in-law, Richard Alfredo and Michael Alfredo; and his beagle Rosa.

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
