Capt. Frank Torres, 47, of Fairhaven died Friday November 23, 2007 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Valery (Hiller) Torres.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Norman L. and Noreen (Perreault) Torres, he lived in Fairhaven for most of his life.

Captain Torres was a well-respected and well-known fishing captain on several vessels out of the Port of New Bedford, most recently on the F/V Stardust.

He was devoted to his family.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Matthew Torres of Fairhaven, and Megan Hunt and Christopher Hunt, both of New Bedford; a brother, Carl Torres of New Bedford; a sister, Kim Marie Torres of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Raedell London and Lathan Hunt; a niece and a nephew.

He was the brother of the late Guy J. Torres.

His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 100 Spring St., Fairhaven. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are omitted. For online guestbook please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
