Caren L. (Santos) Ferreira, 47, of Dartmouth died January 17, 2012 unexpectedly at home.
She was the wife of James Ferreira.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Robert and Lois E. (Worster) Santos of Fairhaven, she was raised in Fairhaven and lived in Dartmouth most of her life.
Caren was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Dartmouth.
She was employed as a licensed practical nurse at Our Lady's Haven.
Caren enjoyed arts and crafts, scrapbooking and volunteered with the Girl Scouts, PTO, youth cheerleading and as a foster parent. She was a dedicated wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband; her parents; 2 sons, Blake R. Ferreira and Garrett J. Ferreira, both of Dartmouth; 2 daughters, Alexandria M. Ferreira and Aubrey G. Ferreira, both of Dartmouth; a brother, Robert Santos, Jr. of New Bedford; a sister-in-law, Kathy Santos of Acushnet; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Visiting hours Friday, January 20th from 4-8 PM followed by her Funeral Service at 8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kiva Microfunds 875 Howard St. Suite #340 San Francisco, CA 94103.
