Carl Joseph Leidhold, Jr., 67, of Mattapoisett and Wareham died Friday March 3, 2006 unexpectedly at home. He was the husband of Ethel Marie (Giovannini) Leidhold.
Born in Pittsfield, he was the son of the late Carl J. and Gertrude Marie (Kelly) Leidhold. He was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Mr. Leidhold was formerly employed by ComElectric for 35 years until his retirement. He later owned and operated Ned's Point Associates, an insurance inspection company. He was also a real estate entrepreneur.
He was an avid sport fisherman and golfer, having participated in many Pro-Am tournaments. He enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City and Foxwoods, scratching lottery tickets, and playing the piano. He loved taking his dogs for long walks at Ned's Point Lighthouse.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Carl Leidhold III and his wife Elizabeth of Mattapoisett, Robert Leidhold of Fairhaven, Christopher Leidhold and his wife Kathleen of Acushnet, and Tony Paradise of Florida; four daughters, Sharon Coolidge and her husband Peter of East Longmeadow, Judith McFee and Kim Lopes and her husband James, all of Fairhaven, and Lisa Carroll of Dartmouth; a sister, Ann Bohlman of Pittsfield; 18 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Carol Leidhold and Betty Shufelt.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett Monday March 6, 2006 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday March 5. 2006 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in Naskatucket Cemetery, Fairhaven.
