Carl K. Magan, 73, of Dartmouth passed away Saturday September 7, 2019 after a long illness. He was the husband of Mary-Norma (Teixeira Mello) Magan.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Eugene and Dorothy (Sylvia) Magan, he lived in Dartmouth for many years.

Carl was formerly employed as a commercial fisherman for many years and later worked as a corrections officer for the Bristol County Sheriff's Department until his retirement.

He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in New Bedford.

His family was the center of his life and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a jack of all trades who could fix almost anything.

He is survived by his wife, Mary-Norma; three children, Robert Mello and his wife Sonja, Kevin Mello and his wife Kimberly, and Katelyn DeMello and her husband Antone IV; his brother, Eugene Magan; seven grandchildren, Robert C. Mello, Bradley J. Mello, Mackenzie K. Mello, Cameron P. Mello, Mary Katherine Mello, Jonathan M. Mello, and Antone "TJ" DeMello V; and his special nephew and niece, Mikel Magan and Kathy DaCosta.

His visitation will be held on Thursday Sept. 12, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his funeral service at 7 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
