Carlos J. Pires, 50, of Belleview, FL died December 6, 2009 at Miriam Hospital in Providence after a brief illness.
Born and raised in New Bedford, the son of Jose J. Pires of New Bedford and the late Ida (Barboza) Pires, he lived in Belleview, FL for the last 17 years.
He was a well known DJ in New Bedford during the 1980's.
Carlos enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and his beloved dog Goldie.
Survivors include his father; a son, Blaine Pires of New Bedford; 3 brothers, Edward Pires, Robert Pires and his wife Cherena, all of Pittsburgh, PA and Joseph Pires of Rochester; 5 sisters, Jolene Senna and her husband William of Pawtucket, RI, Fatima Miranda of Miami, FL, Karen Jackson, Ana Miranda and Elaine Miranda, all of New Bedford; several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours Wednesday, December 9th from 4-7 PM followed by his Funeral Service at 7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial Saturday, December 12th at 10:30 AM in St. John's Cemetery.
