Carmenella "Dolly" (Vietro) Moniz, 72, of New Bedford died Tuesday June 24, 2003 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Charles Moniz.

Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Michael A. and Esther (Carlo) Vietro, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

Survivors include her husband; 3 sons, Raymond Silvia, and his wife Wendy, Roger Moniz and his wife Lisa, and Anthony Moniz and his wife Mary, all of New Bedford; a daughter, Betty Jean Lepore and her husband Alan, of Wareham; a sister, Marie Giunta of Brockton; 3 brothers, Gene Graziose of Malden, Henry Vietro of Arlington and Joseph Vietro of Florida; and 7 grandchildren, Kaylah Silvia, Eric Silvia, Melissa Cashen, Roger Moniz, Jr., Crystal Moniz, Kevin Moniz, and Stephanie Lepore.She was the sister of the late Nicholas Vietro.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday June 27, 2003 at 8:30 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 6-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
