Carol C. Gomes, 62, of New Bedford died unexpectedly at home Tuesday, December 18, 2018.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late John and Elsie (Correia) Gomes, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

Besides driving her children crazy, Carol loved spending time with them and her grandchildren. She enjoyed the simple pleasures through cooking for her family, watching her Westerns and relaxing in her favorite chair. She always enjoyed her rice pudding, Big Mac and strawberry shakes. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by three children, Robert Tirado and his wife Diana, Jose Tirado, and Faleisha Tirado; five grandchildren, Sade, Jayceon, Samir Jr., Samiah, and Jovan; one great-grandson; two sisters, Barbara Chumack and Virginia Gomes; two brothers, John "Chubby" Gomes and August "Goo-Goo" Gomes; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert, Richard, Manuel, Marie, and Linda Gomes and Dale Gomes Spaziano.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will be private. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
