Carol Louise Ouellette

Carol Louise Ouellette (Chapdelaine), born in New Bedford, MA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 10, 1937, Carol lived a life guided by her unwavering faith in God. Her faith was the foundation of who she was, shaping the kindness, compassion, and grace she showed to everyone she met. Above all else, Carol loved her family. Her children were her greatest blessing, and she loved each of them dearly with all her heart. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time together, creating memories, and surrounding herself with those she loved most.

Carol graduated from Saint Anthony High School and enjoyed traveling with her husband, Paul, throughout the years. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures-quilting, reading, baking cookies, sharing laughter during gab sessions with friends, having her nails done, visiting Disney, and shopping at Kohl's. One of her favorite traditions was gathering her family for Saturday morning breakfasts, where love, laughter, and togetherness filled the table.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul; her brothers, Henri Chapdelaine of Iowa and Roger Chapdelaine of Fairhaven; and her cousin, Joanne Wagner, who was like a sister to her. She is also survived by her cherished children, Michelle Vezina of Lakeville, Richard Vezina and his wife, Pauline, of Tiverton, R.I., Jacqueline Pimental of Acushnet, Janet Pictou of Acushnet, and Joanne Johnson of North Attleboro. She was a proud and devoted Mémère to Sarah, Ethan, Jennifer, Kraig, Caleb, Brandon, Meghan, Ian, Aidan, Alana and Yazmin and a treasured Gra Mémère to Skylar, Adam, Levi, Jacob, Alice, Lucien, Avery and Karter.

She is also remembered by her stepchildren, Mark Ouellette of New York, Christopher Ouellette and his wife, Melissa, of Marion, and Jonathan Ouellette of Dartmouth, as well as her step-grandchild, Jacob Ouellette.

Carol was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Ethel Chapdelaine; her first husband, Roland Vezina; her sister-in-law and best friend, Claudette Weaver; her beloved granddaughter, Jenny Pictou; her great-grandson, Luke Hartley; and her stepson, James Ouellette and her son-in-law, Kenneth Pimental.

Carol will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering faith, and the love she so freely gave. She had a remarkable gift for seeing the good in everyone and never had an unkind word to say. Her warmth, generosity, and compassionate spirit touched countless lives, and she made everyone who knew her feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Her greatest legacy is the family she cherished, the faith she lived by, and the countless acts of kindness that will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Community Nurse and Hospice Care for the exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided during Carol's final days.

Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, August 1st at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. Mary's Church, 795 Dartmouth St. Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday, July 31st from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
