Caroline "Carrie" (Luchetti) Miranda, 84, of Saratoga Springs, formerly of New Bedford, died Wednesday March 21, 2007 at the home of her daughter after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Wendell J. Miranda, Sr.

Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore Luchetti and Evangelina (Souza) Luchetti Caetano and stepdaughter of the late Francisco Caetano.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church prior to moving to Saratoga Springs.

A resident of New Bedford for 77 years, she was formerly employed as a plant manager at Langshaw Manufacturing Company.

Survivors include three children, Marilyn Sousa and her husband Roger of Saratoga Springs, Bonita "Bonnie" Ward and her husband Rodney of Lynch Station, VA, and Wendell J. "Wendy" Miranda, Jr., of New Bedford; six grandchildren, John E. Pina II and his wife Kathy, Mark A. Monteiro and his wife Grace, Trisha M. Monteiro, Jason D. Monteiro and his wife Karen, Tiffany J. Miranda and Wen-Dee J. Miranda; six great-grandchildren; a stepsister, Tina Alves of Fall River; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Salvatore Luchetti, Jr.
