Carolyn R. Clarke, 84, of New Bedford passed away Sunday August 18, 2024 after a long illness.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Albert and Doris (Smith) Clarke, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.  She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and UMass Dartmouth.

Carolyn was formerly employed as an art teacher for the Dartmouth Public Schools.

She was a former member of the Pilgrim United Church of Christ, where she served as the superintendent of the Sunday School program.

She is survived by her five children, Debra Gadbois and her husband Marc, Dr. David Clark, Diane Medeiros, Donna Grant and her husband Steven, and Daniel Clark; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Janice Maynard.
