Catherine L. (Morey) Macomber, 82, of Mattapoisett died Wednesday February 6, 2002 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Clifton E. Macomber, and daughter of the late Francis K. and Ethel M. (Dexter) Morey.

Mrs. Macomber was born in Mattapoisett and had lived in Mattapoisett for most of her life. She was a graduate of Fairhaven High School and St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Macomber was formerly employed as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Hospital until her retirement.

She was a former member of the Mattapoisett Women's Club.

Survivors include a son, James C. Macomber of Mattapoisett; a brother, Francis Morey of New Bedford; a sister, Beverly Farwell of Mattapoisett; a grandson, Daniel M. Johnson of Oregon, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday February 9, 2002 at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Route 6), Mattapoisett. Burial will follow in Pine Island Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday February 8, 2002 from 7-9 PM.
