Catherine B. (Armstrong) Simmons, 79, of Lakeville died January 20, 2016 peacefully at Island Terrace Nursing Home.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Hoyle) Armstrong, she lived in Dartmouth most of her like.
She was formerly employed as a receptionist at Hawthorn Medical for many years until her retirement.
Survivors include a son, Paul Simmons and his wife Venessa of Enfield, NH; 2 daughters, Lisa Nelson and her husband Peter of Boise, ID and Donna Standish and her husband Ted of Meriden, CT; 2 grandchildren, Erica Nelson and Kendall Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late John Hopkins and William Hopkins.

Her Funeral will be held on Monday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 9 AM. Visiting hours Sunday from 6-8 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
