Cathryn A. (Molleo) Howland, 73, of New Bedford died Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.  She was the wife of Frederick D. Howland.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Richard T. Molleo and Mary (Sanderson) Molleo Sherman, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

Cathy attended Holy Family grammar school.

She was formerly employed as a waitress at Rosie's Restaurant for many years.  She later worked for Harbor Services and CHMS, where she worked until her retirement.

Cathy loved Sunday dinners and time spent with her family, especially her four grandchildren.  She enjoyed going out to eat for a good steak and going to the casino.

She is survived by her husband, Rick; three children, Tammy Cote and her husband Paul, Kelly Bettencourt and her husband Bobby, and Shaun Howland; four grandchildren, Brenna and Nicole Cote and Madison and Taylor Bettencourt; two brothers, Peter and Timothy Molleo; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Molleo, Jr.

Her Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 5, 2024 at 12 Noon at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 121 Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford, with everyone invited to meet directly at the Church.  Visiting hours and burial are omitted.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Cathy's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  For directions and guestbook, visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
