Cecelia A. (Ferdinand) Stone of New Bedford died November 7, 2009 at the Oaks Nursing Home after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late William R. Stone.
Born in Preston, Lancashire, England, the daughter of the late John and Leanora (DeSanti) Ferdinand, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Stone was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
She was formerly employed by the Acushnet Company for many years until retirement.
Survivors include a son, William Stone and his wife Anne of The Villages, FL; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Robert Stone and the sister of the late John Ferdinand and Earle Ferdinand.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 18th at 10 AM in St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
