Captain Charles E. Conley, Jr., 88, of New Port Richey, FL died April 17, 2026 at home.
He was the husband of Darlene (Luce) Conley and the late Angela (Dube) Conley.
Born in Blanchard, ME, son of the late Charles E. and Clara (Devoe) Conley, he lived in New Bedford most of his life before moving to Florida.
Captain Conley was a commerical fisherman for many years until his retirement.
He enjoyed going to Church, Bible Study, watching the Boston Red Sox , Scalloping for many years, and going to the Racetrack!
Survivors include his wife Darlene; 3 step-children, Donald Luce of New Port Richey, FL, Jim Luce and his wife Michelle of New Port Richey, FL, and Rhonda Heckler and her husband Steve of Trinity, FL; 6 grandsons, Santos Ortega of New Bedford, Andres Ortega of Fairhaven, Donald Paul LaBerge of Tiverton, RI, James Luce, Michael Luce, and Paul Blouin of New Port Richey, FL; 3 granddaughters, Kristi Bottaro, Michelle Croake (God Child too) and Giana Luce of Trinity FL; several great-grand-children, nieces and nephews. 2 special friends, Charlie Quinn of Fairhaven, MA and Pastor Henry Becoat, of New Port Richey, FL.
He was the brother of the late Larry Conley, Viola Woodward and Pricilla Tucker.
His Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 1st at 1 PM in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1213 Kempton St. New Bedford.
