Charlotte A. (Gomes) McKenna, 82, of Dartmouth passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family at South Shore Hospital.

Born and raised in New Bedford, daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Costa) Gomes, she lived in Fairhaven and Dartmouth most of her life.

She was formerly employed as a registered nurse for many years until her retirement. Charlotte enjoyed card games, puzzles, travel and reading.

Anyone who knew her knew that she was truly one of a kind. She touched many lives and was deeply loved by a wonderful group of friends and her family.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Mark McKenna of Falmouth and Sean McKenna and his wife Jamie of Fairhaven; 5 grandchildren, Lindsay, Connor, Owen, Kailyn, Molly; 3 great-grandchildren; and a niece, Sarah Mills.

She was the sister of the late Kenneth Wayne Gomes.

Her visiting hours will be held on Tuesday April 15th from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Her burial will be held on Thursday, May 1st at 11 AM at Riverside Cemetery.
