Cheryl L. Paiva, 65, of New Bedford passed away peacefully in her sleep on the 26th of March.

Born and raised in Fall River, daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth A.(Hackett) Paiva, she spent most of her life in New Bedford and the surrounding area. Cheryl graduated from BMC Durfee High School in 1971 and over the years enjoyed her many interests including photography, gardening, reading, coloring, classic movies and passing time with her beloved Chihuahua "Beanie".

Cheryl is survived by her daughter Kendra Lynn, sons Jason Matthew and William Wayne Jr.; sisters Cindy, Lee and Debbie; grandchildren, Inara and Caleb, many nieces and nephews and beloved friends and family. Cheryl was predeceased by her brother Carl and Michel Cote' her "best friend" and life partner of many years.

Cheryl was a unique, kind soul whose laugh and smile would light up any room. Her warm and naturally inclusive nature would make anyone feel welcomed and loved. At the same time, she would let you know what she thought and wasn't afraid to speak up. She was a true "flower child", barefoot and free spirited enjoying the simple things in life, believing in peace love and happiness and "all you need is love".
