Christopher D. Pereira, 50, of Holden, Massachusetts, died tragically on September 18, 2026, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Chris was obeying all traffic laws when the accident occurred.

Chris was, above all else, a dad. His children, Evan and Cora, were at the center of his life, and being their father was the role he treasured most. "Good with kids" is a gross understatement and they are a living testament to the kind of father he was.

Chris had a quick wit and an uncanny ability to leave a room in stitches with a well-timed line. He was equally comfortable with a deep, meaningful conversation as he was with a good-natured ribbing. He was thoughtful, deeply intelligent, remarkably attuned to the people around him, and delightfully competitive. He thought things through, felt things deeply, and had an insatiable curiosity.

Chris was born in Fall River and raised in Assonet. He was the son of David V. Pereira and his wife, Marianne, of Assonet, and Karen M. (Phillips) Bessette and her husband, Raymond, of Homosassa, Florida.

Music was a lifelong part of Chris' world. A bass guitarist and sound engineer, he turned that interest into both an education and a career. He earned a bachelor's degree in Sound Recording Technology from UMass Lowell and went on to spend more than 20 years at Bose Corporation, most recently working as a technology project manager.

But Chris' life wasn't confined to work. He was happiest spending quality time with the people who mattered most to him; holidays, game nights, camping, ski trips, riding adventures, and playing live music all felt like home to him. He also enjoyed playing basketball his whole life. His home away from home was found deep in the woods. At peace in nature - far from the nearest leaf blower - he was living out his dream by building a cabin in the woods with his own bare hands. He would take his Jeep out there, work on it for a while, then sit on his front porch, basking in the Komorebi. It was almost finished.

Chris is survived by his son, Evan Pereira, and daughter, Cora Pereira, both of Holden; his father, David V. Pereira, and his wife, Marianne, of Assonet; his mother, Karen M. (Phillips) Bessette, and her husband, Raymond, of Homosassa, Florida; his brother, Timothy Pereira, of Lakeville; and his nieces, Chloe and Sophie, and his nephew, Maxwell.

A Celebration of Life for Chris will be held Sunday, October 4th, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Century House, 107 S. Main Street, Acushnet, Massachusetts. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP to the family at https://chrisdpereira.rsvpify.com.
