Connie 'PooPoo' Pina, 67, of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly at home on July 18, 2024. Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Muriel A. Pina and Peter Andrews, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

She devoted over 25 years to the children of our community; making sure their bellies were full and smiles on their faces, whether at Connie's Corner inside the Boys and Girls Club or when she was managing the cafeterias of several local elementary schools. Her kitchen was her heart and making sure those she cared for were well fed was always her main priority.

Connie also loved spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, traveling and going out for a drink with friends.

Survivors include her only child, daughter, Ja'Nika Lee Silva of Durham; two grandchildren, Jurnee and Justice Silva of Durham; a brother, Frank Pina and his wife Stephanie of New Bedford; four nephews, Shawn, Cory, Dwayne and Jordan; several great-nieces and nephews; and several Godchildren.

Her visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 25th from 4-7pm in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. In Celebration of her life, we request that everyone in attendance wear something in Connie's favorite color.
