Daniel A. Duarte, Jr., 41, of New Bedford died Tuesday March 27, 2018.

A lifelong resident of New Bedford, he was the eldest son of Daniel A. Duarte and the late Susan M. Mutlow.

He was a skilled welder throughout his adult life and employed by the Steamship Authority and Begley's Welding.

Danny, as he was known by his family and friends, enjoyed spending time with his friends and close family. His hobbies were working on his Jeep, hunting, fishing, and camping.

Survivors include his life companion, Nicole Medeiros; two sons, Alexander Duarte and Marcus Simas; his grandmother, Roberta Lovegrove; his sister, Sheena Mutlow, Raymond and their two children; his brother, Troy Duarte; and his cousin/brother/best friend, Kevin Gonsalves, all of New Bedford; his aunt, Laura (Mutlow) Greige and her family; and his Godson, Moses Rodriguez; all of Attleboro.

At the request of his family, a private service will be held. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
