Danielle L. Pires, 60, of New Bedford died April 14, 2026 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Estelle "Stella" (Tavares) Pires and Lanny R. "Sugar" Pires, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.Daniells was employed at Better Community Living for 25 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, the company of her cat Buddy and trips to the casino.
Survivors include her son, Keith Pires of New Bedford; a sister, Roxanne Pires and her husband Jose Caceres of New Bedford; 2 brothers, Dino Pires and Lance Wedge, both of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren, Laila Pires and Michael Pires; and 4 nieces and nephews, Ross Pires, Jaylee Pires, Trina Strawn and Torrell Strawn.
She was the sister of the late Keith Tavares.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 25th at 10 AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 121 Mt. Pleasant St. New Bedford. Visiting hours are omitted.
