David B. Correia

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David B. Correia 73, raised in Falmouth and New Bedford resident, who passed away surrounded by loving family on February 20, 2026. David was a deeply cherished son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, whose quiet strength and creative spirit touched the lives of many. David was the eldest of seven siblings: Mark DeAndrade, Samuel DeAndrade, Lisa DeAndrade-Brito, Cathy DeAndrade, Linda Ramos, Shelly Correia, and sister Brenda. David is also survived by his son, Jason and his family, as well as a large extended family of nieces and nephews.

He was a protective and loving big brother to his younger siblings, holding a special place in their hearts. David was deeply tied to faith and spirituality, yet he cherished the simple pleasures of life like spending time with family and friends, Sunday dinners with his sister Lisa, a good steak or fish and chips. He particularly enjoyed holiday and birthday celebrations. In many ways he was a reflection of his mother's values.

David possessed an artistic talent, beginning to draw portraits at just six years old. His passion for drawing blossomed throughout his life, leading him to create oil paintings. His art was honed through self-teaching and classes at the Swain School of Design in New Bedford. He also held a life long-love for music, learning to play the piano as a child. Beyond his artistic pursuits, David had a fondness for Classic Western films and old comedy like the Three Stooges.

His life was one that fought the odds, but for which he was always appreciative. His life was marked by quiet determination and his deep connection to his family.

David will be remembered as a unique individual, a gentle soul with a creative heart and a deep love for his family. His passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire. We find comfort in knowing that he is with his beloved mother in Heaven.

We look forward to his Celebration of Life at Century House on Main Street, Acushnet in May.
