David Robson, 69, of New Bedford died Tuesday June 8, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born on October 31, 1934 in Longview, Washington, the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Dodsworth) Robson, he was raised in Durham, England and had lived in New Bedford since 1958.

Mr. Robson was formerly employed as a commercial fisherman sailing on various fishing vessels out of the Port of New Bedford until his retirement.

He was a member of the New Bedford Fishermen's Union. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Survivors include two sons, John K. Robson and Mark Robson, both of New Bedford; three sisters, Doreen Meakin, Ruth Madison, and Jean Pearson, all of the United Kingdom; a granddaughter, Lily Elizabeth Robson; and three nieces and three nephews.

He was the brother of the late William Robson.

His Committal Service will be held on Wednesday June 16, 2004 at 10 AM in the Veterans Plot of Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
