David E. Wilusz, 55, of White Plains, NY, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Born in Northampton, MA, David was the beloved son of Eugene Wilusz and the late Nancy S. Wilusz of Acushnet. He is lovingly remembered by his father and his sisters, Amy Spencer of Andover, MA, and Julie Bender of Amesbury, MA. David was also the much loved brother-in-law to Michael Bender and a devoted uncle to his niece, Samantha Bender, and his nephew, Bryce Bender.
David graduated from Bishop Stang High School, where he played varsity baseball. He went on to earn a B.A. in computer science from St. Anselm College, followed by an M.S. in computer science from UMass Dartmouth and an MBA in business and finance from Babson College. His dedication and expertise led him to achieve the distinction of becoming a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA). David continued to build on a successful career at Marex, where he served as U.S. Head of Liquidity Management.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, David embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. He had a deep love for sailing and photography. He especially loved capturing images of birds and lighthouses. An avid athlete, he completed several marathons and triathlons over the years, including many New Bedford Half Marathons and multiple half Ironmans. David also gave generously of his time, serving for many years as a Big Brother with the Big Brother Big Sister Organization. David was a passionate reader, often having 3 or 4 books going at once. He loved music, especially vinyl records and he really loved to travel.
David will be remembered for his intellect, warmth, and generosity of spirit, and for the many lives he touched through his work, passions, and friendships. He especially cherished his many sailing journeys with Les, playing baseball and hockey with Donnie while cheering together for Boston sports teams, and exploring New York City and beyond with Erica and Natalie.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church.
