Deborah Louise Haskell, of Dunnellon Florida, passed away peacefully on September 27th, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by family after a long illness.
Debby was born on August 31, 1951, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to Edward Haskell and Shirley Hager. She was the younger sister of Robert A. Haskell and a proud graduate of the New Bedford High School Class of 1969.
In 1977, Debby began a distinguished career in the United States Air Force. Through years of dedication, hard work, and service to her country, she rose through the ranks and achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. She proudly served with the Massachusetts Air National Guard's 102nd Fighter Wing at Otis Air National Guard Base on Cape Cod in the Logistics Readiness Squadron for 38 years. Debby made history as the first woman to hold the rank of Chief Master Sergeant with the 102nd Fighter Wing. Her accomplishments were a source of great pride to her family, her fellow service members, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Outside of her military career, Debby found joy in the things she loved most. She had a passion for motorcycles and Jeeps, enjoyed traveling and making memories on trips to Disney, and especially treasured the time she spent with her great-niece and great-nephew, Sydney and Robert. They held a very special place in her heart.
Debby will be remembered for her strength, determination, independence, and pride in the life she built. She leaves behind a legacy of service and accomplishment, but most importantly, the memories and love she shared with her family.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Joyce Haskell; her nephew, Patrick Haskell; and her beloved great-niece and great-nephew, Sydney Haskell and Robert Haskell of all of Wareham Ma, as well as Aunt Elizabeth Haskell of California and numerous cousins and Godson.
Though she is no longer with us, Debby's memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
Her visiting hours will be held on Monday. October 5th from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
