Denise Marie (Karhu) Medeiros, 54, passed away at home on Thursday December 26, 2019.

Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life. She was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School and the Trundy Institute of Addiction Counseling.

Denise had been employed as a counselor for Steppingstone Incorporated in Fall River.

She was very active in her Church - "In the Name of Jesus Christ."

She is survived by her parents, Russell and Theresa (Medeiros) Lucas; her son, Branden D. Andrade, Sr. and his fiancée Siara; four grandchildren, Corbin, Branden Jr., Annalise, and Alanna; three aunts; a great-aunt; and several cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, James M. Karhu.
