Diolinda M. Avila, 95, of Mattapoisett died Monday November 24, 2008 at Sacred Heart Home. She was the wife of the late George C. Avila.
Born in Mattapoisett, the youngest child of Joseph and Mary (Ferreira) Mendes, she lived in Mattapoisett for most of her life.
She leaves a daughter, Susan Hoyt of Mattapoisett; and two granddaughters, Christina Koslosky of California and Gaylen Whittier of Mattapoisett.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday November 28, 2008 at 10 AM in St. Anthony's Church in Mattapoisett. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Road, Route 6, Mattapoisett.
